AIR CONDITIONING INSTALLATION FAQS

  • What will the air conditioning unit look like?

This will depend on your individual requirements and the property. Once we have carried out a full survey, we will recommend several solutions for you to choose from. We provide detailed images of these so you can see how they may look once installed.

  • Will the air conditioning unit be energy efficient?

Inverter technology is the latest evolution used in air-conditioning units that allows you to adjust the cooling or heating to match your needs, resulting in more precise temperature control, improved energy efficiency and lower carbon emissions.

  • Will it make a lot of noise?

The most recent models have compressors which use inverter technology that reduces the noise and are ideal for use in busy offices where noise levels need to be kept to a minimum.

  • How much does it cost to buy/install?

This will depend on your requirements. We recommend booking a site survey with us first so we can provide you with a full quotation.

  • How much does it cost to run?

The costs of running an air conditioning unit vary depending on several factors. We will discuss these with you when we carry out our initial survey.

  • How long will it take to install?

This will depend on your several factors including the number of units required, where they are being installed, the type and size of the property. To give you a rough idea, a single standard AC unit takes just 4 to 8 hours to install. A large AC system may require more complex electrical and plumbing work so may take several days to install.

  • How long will the unit last?

Modern air conditioning units last up to 15-20 years. All our air conditioning units come with a 10 year warranty and guarantee, and we recommend getting it serviced at least once a year to ensure optimum performance.

  • Do you provide maintenance and servicing?

Yes – our annual service and maintenance contracts, which the majority of our clients take advantage of, will ensure optimum performance and efficiency. These can be customised to your requirements, and can include:

    • Fault diagnosis
    • Fan coil cleaning
    • Annual refrigerant leak checks
    • Retrofit of R-22 systems
    • Creation of asset list and serial sticker identification

  • Do air conditioning units provide cooling and heating?

Yes. Air conditioning units can provide heat to your property as well as cooling it down. Heat recovery ventilation is a great way to maximise efficiency in your space by recovering otherwise wasted heat to reduce the heating and cooling demands of your building.

  • Can it be controlled for different zones?

If you have a large floor area, we will recommend an AC system that can be zoned for different areas so that you can easily adjust the temperature according to your preferences.

  • Should I upgrade my existing air conditioning unit? (will I save money?)

Modern units can last up to 20 years, but if it is older than that, you might want to consider an upgrade to ensure optimum efficiency.
