At Hughes Group, we’re able to offer a wide assortment of property management services to help with anything in regards to property, whether that’s commercial or domestic. One of the services we get asked often about is our comprehensive mechanical and electrical engineering surveys, which can help to alleviate any worries a potential property buyer might have. These surveys are designed to help you better understand the property you’re purchasing - but how does that work? Mechanical and electrical engineering surveys are a critically important part of surveying a property. They give the prospective property buyer invaluable insight into the current state of the building and what’s going on behind-the-scenes. When you work with Hughes Group to coordinate a survey of this kind, there’s a number of steps we undertake. Our team evaluates the entire property to review the state of the mechanical and electrical systems helping to run everything. By looking at your systems in this way, we can measure their effectiveness and also their system life expectancy, providing a report for future reference. Checking every system in the house also allows us to get ahead of any problems if we can see something isn’t working as it should. We’re able to see if there are any issues that might affect the building services and work out solutions to fix them before they cause any real trouble. Seeing these issues in action allows us to prepare any necessary maintenance ahead of time, as well as allocate the available budget. From here, intrusive surveys may be recommended depending on the severity of any issues. Intrusive surveys are used to identify potentially hidden problems with a property. The reason for these surveys is to pinpoint any problems and stamp them out before they become a real issue. However, these intrusive surveys cause disruption to the building - hence the name - and may involve inspections into voids and the isolation of electrical circuits. Despite the disruption, they are designed to help you gain an even greater understanding of your property behind-the-scenes. Our mechanical and electrical engineering surveys are designed to be fully comprehensive - we want to deliver peace of mind to our client. If you’re interested in learning more about your property either as a potential buyer or someone who already owns a property, get in touch on 01344 299889.
